Resumo

A saúde mental e a qualidade de vida das pessoas que realizam suas atividades cotidianas ou vivem nas cidades têm sido afetadas pelas modificações feitas em seu ambiente, uma delas é a diminuição das Áreas Verdes Urbanas (AVU) que abrigam flora e fauna. Está comprovado que as AVU, pelos serviços ecossistêmicos que oferecem, são essenciais para o desenvolvimento humano. O objetivo deste trabalho é descrever o impacto das condições atuais das AVU na percepção das pessoas. Para isso, é realizada uma revisão histórica (2015-2021), uma análise sistemática e bibliométrica por meio da geração de mapas de ocorrência de palavras-chave. Foram coletados 83 artigos dos cinco continentes, o país com maior produção desse assunto é o Reino Unido. O mapa geral de ocorrência dos temas permitiu a identificação de três linhas de pesquisa: a importância da coesão social no AVU; as diferenças de percepção da AVU existentes entre crianças, jovens e adultos; e as mudanças geradas pela pandemia do COVID-19 no que diz respeito ao vínculo entre AVU e as pessoas. A literatura revisada demonstra a conexão existente entre o ser humano e a natureza, que apesar da evolução das cidades não se perdeu, ainda são geradas sensações e emoções positivas, que podem ser um impulsionador para cuidar, preservar e aumentar as AVU.
