Memory and historical documentation Inga indigenous council of Aponte Municipality of Tablón de Gómez - Department of Nariño - Colombia

Abstract

The Department of Nariño has a strategic territorial position. It is located between the Andean, Pacific and Amazonian zones, the international border and it is a mandatory crossing in the south between Colombia and the world. In this space, ancestrally indigenous communities survive, such as the Inga, they are people from the community with the same name of the Sibundoy Valley, department of Putumayo and belonging to the Quechua family. Its documentation on paper still exists, but if not intervened properly it could disappear, which is considered as the biggest problem. Here is presented the work carried out in the Inga community of Aponte in the municipality of El Tablón de Gómez, department of Nariño, fulfilling the agreement signed between, CESMAG University (CESMAG University Institution, at that time) and the Council, that started on January 20, 2018 and ended on March 20, 2018. This agreement fulfilled the general objective of creating the Historical Archive of the Inga de Aponte Mayor Council (A.H.C.M.I.A), after, methodically and, in compliance and application of the archival organization criteria, it was possible to recover, dry, clean and chronologically order the material documentary historical heritage of the community, and contain the documentary heritage for the service of the community in appropriate filing cabinets and in an appropriate place for their use. At the same time, information from a previous work is included (Bolaños, 1995). This work was carried out by the same researcher which allows to demonstrate the fragility of the documentary heritage.  This research is also a recognition of the Inga community in Nariño for maintaining its mother word, original language, uses, customs and its commitment to the environment.
