Abstract

The article is based on a research whose objective was to reflect on the nature of the teaching-learning
processes and on the need to develop the system of basic thinking skills in third-year high school students of the educational institutions of Tulcán Canton, Province of Carchi (Ecuador). Likewise, we want
to share a pedagogical experience aimed at teamwork, considering personal characteristics based on the
Theory David Kolb’s Learning Styles and its adaptation, the theory of Learning Styles and animods with
the purpose to overcome the deficit level of reading-writing skills in the student body; this is linked to the
study carried out in 2013 to 1,347 analysis units in 13 educational institutions of the same province. The
qualitative and quantitative approaches were accepted; 137 tests of basic thinking skills and 137 tests of
adaptive modes were applied. For the research, the instrument Adaptive Modes in the learning organizations was incorporated, which describes how the student sees himself. The result that was obtained in
the update of the study coincides with the research of 2013, in which the prospective confirms that the
role of the education professional must have clarity in the orientations and conformation of work teams
in the classroom, to facilitate the development of basic thinking skills, necessary for problem solving,
information processing and the acquisition of knowledge.
