Resumen

La salud mental y calidad de vida de las personas que realizan sus actividades diarias o viven en las ciudades se ha visto afectada por las modificaciones realizadas a su entorno, una de ellas es la disminución de las Áreas Verdes Urbanas (AVU) que albergan la flora y fauna. Está comprobado que las AVU por los servicios ecosistémicos que ofrecen son imprescindibles para el desarrollo humano. El objetivo de este trabajo es describir el impacto de las condiciones actuales de las AVU a la percepción de las personas. Para ello, se realiza una revisión histórica (2015-2021), un análisis sistemático y bibliométrico por medio de la generación de mapas de ocurrencia de palabras clave. Se recolectaron 83 artículos provenientes de los cinco continentes, el país con mayor producción de esta temática es Reino Unido. El mapa general de ocurrencia de temáticas permitió identificar tres líneas de investigación: la importancia de la cohesión social en AVU; las diferencias de percepción de AVU que existen entre niños, jóvenes y adultos; y los cambios generados por la pandemia de COVID-19 con respecto al vínculo entre las AVU y las personas. La literatura revisada demuestra la conexión existente entre los humanos y la naturaleza, que a pesar de la evolución de las ciudades no se ha perdido, todavía se generan sensaciones y emociones positivas, lo cual puede ser un impulsor para cuidar, preservar y aumentar las AVU.
