Gender mainstreaming in Mexico's political context is recent, and the affiliation of the different social, political and civil actors has emerged in the last decade as one of the most promising tasks for the democratic life of women, and of the country in general. Besides, the implementation of gender mainstreaming through training has been a key element in companies and institutions for their strengthening and growth. The purpose of this paper is to provide a pedagogical proposal based on gender mainstreaming for higher education institutions and to offer the theoretical, methodological, practical and systematic elements that allow detecting, making visible and acting in situations of abuse, violence, discrimination and inequality based on gender. The methodology used for the development of the pedagogical proposal was that of a virtual course that is focused on the identification of an educational problem and its context; and in the general planning of the course, didactic material and tools are integrated to promote analysis and reflection on the main causes that have been generated in societies, worldwide, on inequality between men and women. The main goal is to recognize and respect the human rights of people, specifically women. From the approach of the proposal, it is intended to identify the central problem to understand the differentiation, exclusion and discrimination against women and how gender roles and stereotypes act in different areas of socialization such as family, school, work and group of friends. It is therefore a question of facing the challenges of education, society and the country, taking into account all people.
